Normally a 'cured' snorer will become complacent after successfully stopping snoring with the available snoring solutions or snoring remedies. If you snored while you slept before you were cured, here are a few tips on snoring prevention.
Step no. 1: Avoid food that does not prevent snoring
Before bedtime, try avoiding foods and drinks known to worsen your snoring such as alcohol, sleeping pills, drinks with caffeine content and rich foods. If you are on regular medication for other complication, consult your doctor about alternatives. Fellow snorers know that sleeping pills and sedatives make the quest to prevent snoring a bit harder because these medications relax the soft tissues in the back of the throat.
Step no. 2: Elevate your head while sleeping
Keep propping yourself with a few extra pillows while you sleep so that you do not lie flat on your back and start snoring again. Other cheap ways to raise your head are by placing several flat boards under the legs at the top end of the bed and inserting a few old thick phone books under each leg.
Step no. 3: Remain sleeping on your side
Maintain sleeping on your side by so that your airway is nor blocked by the resting of your tongue and soft palate rest against the back of your throat. If you are a habitual flat back sleeper, a snore guard belt with a thicker block placed behind your back and tied around your waist might do the trick.
Step 4: Unblock your nose when having a cold
Ease your nasal blockage when having a cold by taking a decongestant or antihistamine temporarily. Long term use of these medication is not advisable as they are harmful to your health. The lining of your nose and throat can be shrunk by gargling a peppermint mouthwash made by adding 1 drop of Peppermint 100% Pure Essential Oil - 30 ml
